Some upcoming conferences…

The UK Evaluation Society conference will be held this year on 10 & 11 May in London. Always a great opportunity to network and share insights, the theme of this year’s event is particularly relevant: the use and usability of Evaluation.  More details here.

Here in Ireland, progress is slowly being made in terms of building evaluation capacity across the public service.  The next part of the puzzle is building the capacity to consume evaluation work and extract the most benefit.  Otherwise too much of our work is wasted.

In fairness sometimes much of the responsibility for the limited usability of evaluation can be squarely directed at ourselves as evaluators.   Continue reading

Is there anybody out there…?

There would appear to be quite a few evaluators in Ireland… but somehow no evaluation community.  Is there a way to bring together all the knowledge and experience across our profession to facilitate sharing and innovation?  This site is one of a number of initiatives by a few evaluation professionals in Ireland looking to build links with peers across the country.

We’re throwing crap at walls and seeing what sticks.
